I agree with you. There are many people in the church who refuse to question their salvation, though the evidence is questionable. (Fruit) It was said by a wise Man that the even the world will know we are Christians by our love, furthermore that everyone who is in Christ will bear fruit. If someone makes a profession and turns to gross sin, he may indeed be regenerate, although given his current fall he should question. I am not saying that our sole source of assurance should be our good frames, however, it is clear from scripture that we know that we are His because we are walking in the truth.
